Is Your Reputation Working For You - Or Against You?

Many leaders can't answer that with confidence. We can show you exactly where you stand, what’s at risk, and what to do about it.

ReputeX® is how we measure it – a scored, evidence-based assessment of your reputation with clear actions to drive trust, value, and resilience.

We work with organisations of all sizes – from small businesses and community organisations to listed companies. Every engagement starts with a conversation.

How Can Reputation Measurement Help?

See the full picture - not just the parts that are easy to measure - so reputation is your greatest strength.

Know what your risks are - so you control your success rather than reacting to issues when they strike.

Get evidence and a plan for any leadership conversation - not estimates and guesswork.

Reputation is worth up to 40 per cent of enterprise value

If you want to turn your reputation into one of your greatest assets then ReputeX® can give you a comprehensive roadmap for success with practical actions based on insights across five dimensions.

1. Trust Alignment - Is there consistency between organisational promise and delivery?

Trust Alignment measures the degree to which an organisation’s stated purpose, values, and commitments are reflected in its decisions and behaviour.

3. Leadership - Are leaders credible, visible and trusted enough?

Leadership is a key driver of organisational reputation. ReputeX® assesses where leadership behaviour can become an asset.

2. Stakeholder Perception - Do key audiences trust the organisation's actions and direction?

Stakeholder perception tracks how different audiences - investors, employees, regulators, community groups, and customers - actually view the organisation's conduct.

4. Operational Resilience - Do you have plans and processes to handle issues and crises?

Operational Resilience is strengthened when an organisation takes a planned approach to to be able to execute its strategy.

5. Future Readiness & Purpose - do you have a strong licence to operate?

Repute® assesses whether the organisation is genuinely prepared for the social, environmental, and regulatory expectations it faces - now and in the foreseeable future.

Who is ReputeX® For?

ReputeX® was built for any organisation where reputation matters. That covers more ground than most people expect.

If you’re a listed company managing investor and regulatory expectations, ReputeX® gives your board a defensible, evidence-based view of reputational risk.

If you’re a privately held, small or family business where a customer or stakeholder issue can have a big impact, ReputeX® gives you a practical plan.

If you’re a professional services firm – legal, financial, consulting, accounting – where trust is the product, ReputeX® benchmarks the dimensions that directly drive client retention and new business.

If you’re navigating change – a merger, a leadership transition, a rebrand, a crisis – ReputeX® gives you a baseline to measure from and a brief to act on.

If you’re in a regulated sector – energy, insurance, financial services, health, education, government – where community trust and regulatory standing are existential, ReputeX® maps exactly where you stand with the stakeholders who matter most.

FAQs

Q: What is ReputeX® and how does it work?

ReputeX® is a proprietary reputation measurement system developed by The Reputation Agency in Melbourne, Australia. It assesses an organisation’s reputation across up to five dimensions – Trust Alignment, Stakeholder Perception, Leadership Integrity and Visibility, Operational Resilience, and Future Readiness and Purpose – producing a scored, benchmarked view of reputation value, risk, and opportunity. The assessment is evidence-based rather than just perception-based, giving a defensible brief for strategic decision-making.

Q: Is ReputeX® only for large or listed companies?

No. ReputeX® is designed to scale across organisations of all sizes – from founder-led and family businesses through to ASX-listed companies and government entities. The methodology adapts to the specific stakeholder landscape and operating context of each organisation, regardless of size or sector.

Q: Can ReputeX® measure stakeholder sentiment?

Yes. Stakeholder Perception is one of the five core dimensions ReputeX® assesses. It examines how key audiences – including investors, employees, customers, community groups, regulators, and media – actually view the organisation, identifying gaps between how leadership believes the organisation is perceived and how it is actually experienced by those who matter most.

Q: How is ReputeX® different from a standard brand or customer satisfaction survey?

Brand tracking and customer satisfaction surveys measure a narrow slice of perception – typically among customers or consumers. ReputeX® measures reputation across the full stakeholder ecosystem, including investors, regulators, employees, community, and media. It also assesses internal dimensions like leadership credibility and organisational resilience that brand surveys don’t capture. The output is a scored reputation assessment, not a satisfaction metric.

Q: What do you get at the end of a ReputeX® assessment?

A ReputeX® assessment produces four outputs: an Executive Reputation Value Report, a Reputation Value Dashboard, a Reputation Risk and Opportunity Map, and an Industry Benchmarking Report. Together these give leadership a complete picture of current reputation standing, where risk sits, where opportunity exists, and how the organisation compares to sector peers.

Q: How much does a ReputeX® assessment cost?

ReputeX® engagements are scoped to the size and complexity of each organisation. Every engagement starts with a conversation – so you know whether to start with an entry level Benchmark Snapshot, through to more complex and comprehensive engagements if needed. The right scope depends on your stakeholder landscape, sector, and what you need the assessment to do. Contact The Reputation Agency to discuss what’s involved for your situation.

Q: Can ReputeX® help if my organisation is already in a reputational crisis?

Yes. ReputeX® is used both proactively – to identify risk before it surfaces – and reactively, as a diagnostic tool when an organisation is navigating a crisis or significant reputational challenge. In a crisis context, ReputeX® provides an evidence-based baseline that helps leadership understand exactly what has been affected, with which stakeholders, and what recovery looks like.

Q: Is ReputeX® available outside Melbourne?

Yes. While The Reputation Agency is headquartered in Melbourne, ReputeX® assessments are conducted for organisations across Australia and internationally. The methodology is not location-dependent and has been applied across multiple sectors and geographies.

Q: How long does a ReputeX® assessment take?

The timeframe depends on the scope and complexity of the engagement – specifically the number of stakeholder groups involved and the depth of assessment required. The Reputation Agency will outline a clear timeline at the outset of every engagement.

Q: What sectors does ReputeX® work across?

ReputeX® has been applied across sectors where reputation materially affects organisational performance – including financial services, energy, insurance, professional services, health, education, government, and listed companies with significant public and regulatory exposure. Any organisation where trust is a strategic asset is a candidate for ReputeX® measurement.
