The Reputation Agency launches
Indie agency The Reputation Agency has launched with a focus on “measuring, building, protecting and amplifying reputation value”.
The announcement:
The Reputation Agency – an independent agency dedicated to measuring, building, protecting and amplifying reputation value – has launched this week in a major shakeup of Australia’s corporate affairs advisory sector.
The new entrant is led by founder and CEO Scott Thompson, one of Australia’s most renowned strategists. Thompson started the new venture after 8 years at Bastion Agency, most recently as Chief Strategy Officer, ANZ, for the Communications and PR Division.
With over 20 years experience in corporate affairs, public policy, and strategic advisory, Thompson has been a trusted partner to CEOs, boards, and executives navigating complex and contested environments. He has led campaigns and driven outcomes across industries, including energy and resources, transport and infrastructure, health and ageing, retail, FMCG, and tourism.
“The Reputation Agency is a direct response to Boards and executives increasingly asking ‘how do we measure our reputation?’, ‘what is our reputation worth?’ and ‘how can we nurture our reputation to ensure it contributes real value to our business?’,” Thompson said.
“We need to do better than just dealing with perception and messaging strategies. We need to go to the next level with clients to focus on how reputation can be a source of capital that has a strategic value just like the tangible assets in any business. That’s what The Reputation Agency has been created to deliver.
“With passionate and innovative consultants, and specialist teams delivering research, data, insights and analysis, as well as the latest digital targeting, engagement and activation approaches, The Reputation Agency is dedicated to unlocking reputation value,” he said.
Before founding The Reputation Agency, Thompson was on the Executive at Bastion Reputation, leading a growth strategy that saw that business established in four states. Thompson was formerly a director at the Business Council of Australia and before that held senior executive roles at CPR Communications and Public Relations. He began his career as a journalist and over 12 years was a senior writer on Victoria’s leading newspapers, including the Herald Sun and The Age.
